Reconnect with You through Internal Family Systems Therapy

Heal anxiety, grief, trauma, and that noisy inner critic through compassionate, evidence-based parts work.

What is Internal Family Systems Therapy?

Internal Family Systems, or IFS, is a type of therapy that helps us understand and work with the different ‘parts’ of ourselves — the various thoughts, feelings, and voices within us that sometimes feel like they’re at odds. For example, you may have one part excited for that social event this weekend, while another says let’s binge a show.  Or perhaps one part of you might really want the support that would come from starting therapy, while another is concerned about digging up painful stuff.

In IFS therapy, we work to develop a relationship with all the parts of our personality so that we can understand why they do what they do and want what they want, helping them to work together more harmoniously. The goal is to help you connect with your core Self — that calm, compassionate, confident, centered place inside you that can lead and care for your inner system. Along the way, we help heal pain or vulnerability that may be fueling your current automatic reactions. This frees up space so that you have more ability to choose how you want to respond, rather than just reacting.
